Children of the Moon
Synopsis
How do children go to sleep in a place where close to 20 children and parents were murdered in their sleep at night?
The film documents families in the Itamar settlement outside Nablus, whose lives are in constant danger. The focus of the observation is the children, the way they go to bed, the way they confront the wave of terrorism and the myths and stories they are told. In addition, the film depicts the “adult world” which is there to ensure the children’s safety.
The journey that begins with the murder of two parents in full view of their children outside Itamar and ends with the murder of a little girl in her bed reveals the connection between the bedtime stories that were written in the Jezreel Valley in the 30s and 40s and the hills of Judea and Samaria.
